Tights are made up of two stockings that are joined and stitched together, forming a panty at the top. This is the most well-known type of hosiery and is made with a weft of very fine yarns which create different thickness. Tights are soft to touch and pleasant to wear. They can be sheer/semi-sheer, thanks to very fine fibres which create a transparent look, or semi-opaque/opaque, thanks to the use of heavy yarns which guarantee a compact appearance. The top consists of a panty trimmed with a waistband for a better fit, stitched to a nylon or cotton gusset between the legs. Tights can be made using special technologies to achieve a massaging, supportive or slimming effect. In recent years, tights have become an important fashion item, thanks to the patterns that can be created using specific crafting methods.
